Round 8
It's a bittersweet day. Instead of getting gussied up in her finest red polo and heading to school to start 5th grade, Charlotte has checked into Hotel SCH for another round of methotrexate. She was a good sport and took the obligatory 1st day photo, but it didn't hit the same.

We tried to make the most of our time away from the hospital. There was Yahtzee outside, giant bubbles, time with friends, and Charlotte even found a way to get herself up the stairs! She is now sleeping in her own bed and enjoying the freedom to move ALL throughout the house.

Charlotte is still working really hard during PT. She's doing quad sets, heel drags, and bending her right knee more & more each day. We saw Dr. Jesse yesterday and he is hopeful she can get to 90 degrees in the next week. Charlotte has been less fearful of the pain that will come with bending her knee and loves showing Connor & I any new skills when it comes to her mobility.

After our appointments at the hospital, we were able to take Charlotte to St. Luke to meet with her teacher, principal, and the director from the Learning Resource Center to come up with a plan for the school year. She very much enjoyed walking, and dancing in, the halls and visiting with some of her favorite people!
We will do as much as we can remotely, but everything will be dependent on how Charlotte feels & what she is up for. We talked about using Zoom to join lessons and even to join friends at lunch. Charlotte is really hoping to go back in-person, too. This is something we'd love to make happen, but want to talk it through with her medical team first. We feel abundantly blessed to have Mrs. Hennessey and the crew at St. Luke supporting us in every way imaginable.

Charlotte just got back from the classroom at SCH and is getting cozy with our view of the Space Needle & Husky Stadium. Chemo will start in about 30 minutes and then we'll work on the scavenger hunt & getting laps in while feeling up for it. After that, we wait for 0.1!
