See ya, hair.

See ya, hair.
Circa 7 months old - bald is beautiful!

We've reached the hair loss stage of chemo - roughly 2 weeks after it began. We all knew it was inevitable, but we were keeping our fingers crossed for a delayed start.

I noticed more shedding late last week, right around the time we went to the Storm game. When the light would hit Charlotte's back, I could see strands collecting on her t-shirt. Connor and I would make eyes at each other, but we tried to keep our reactions hidden from Charlotte. We knew this was going to be a delicate subject - she was very proud of how long her hair had gotten!

She let me take it up to shoulder length on Saturday morning, which helped. It was still clumping & falling out at a rapid rate, faster than even Connor and I expected. She has always struggled with tangles, but everything was starting to become so intertwined that I asked today if she'd be OK going shorter. She agreed, closed her eyes, and let me take scissors to it.

Connor and I both offered to let her shave our heads and she was adamant that we keep our hair. She repeated over and over that it will grow back, she's just not used to it right now.

We know from the first two years of her life that she will rock the hell out of a bald head! Charlotte has also found the ultimate silver lining - we are about to save so much money on shampoo!
