Surgery Day

Today was probably the most significant milestone we've had during Charlotte's treatment, and to cut straight to the chase, it went as well as it could have!!! Our surgeon was very happy with how the procedure went and expects Charlotte to have fantastic range of motion with her new implant. While we won't know full pathology for a few weeks, Dr. Jesse is optimistic with what he removed today. Lauren and I both feel as if a significant weight has been lifted knowing that the tumor is out.
Charlotte is currently resting and will be on some pretty good meds for the next few days. She's able to talk with us just a little bit, but is definitely worn out. As a bonus, they did insert an NG tube during surgery, and they've been able to utilize it already for some nutrition!
We received lots of messages of support, love, and prayers today. All of these gestures truly went a long way in helping lift our spirits and helped time pass quickly as we waited for updates. Thank you to everyone who has been showing Charlotte love on this journey, especially today.
